“People of Faith for Health Reform”
This is Reverend Steve Beckham from Baton Rouge. It seems like almost everyday someone else in my congregation is worried they won’t be able to keep paying for their family’s healthcare. People in Louisiana are working harder than ever, but healthcare is becoming less and less affordable. It’s just not right. Every person created in the image of God is of limitless value.
All Americans should be able to get the care they need for their families when they need it. God desires abundant life for all people. It’s time we step up and ask our politicians to move the debate forward, so we can get the reform we desperately need. Please contact you members of Congress and encourage them to work together to make quality healthcare choices affordable for all families. “Cover All Families”
It’s a vision first proclaimed by Isaiah: No more shall there be an infant that lives but a few days, or an old person who does not live out a lifetime.
This is Rev. Joyce Hardy from Little Rock, and we’ve got work to do. In Arkansas, people are being denied the care they need because of their age or an illness they had years ago. Or they’re getting sick because they can’t afford preventive care.
This is not who we are as a nation. America can do better.
The challenge is great, but God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love. And our love must be a thing of action. This Independence Day, join thousands of people of faith in asking Senator Lincoln and Senator Pryor to rise to the challenge by supporting reform that makes quality health care choices affordable for all families.
